Retro Pop Culture Humorist, Charles Phoenix, launches into the classic living room slide show into a laugh out loud fun fest! With his keen expertise, unbridled enthusiasm, and eagle-eye for oddball detail, Charles unleashes the stories and glories of spectacular space-age style, mid-century marvels, local landmarks, roadside wonders, fun foods, festive fashions, colorful car culture, futuristic transportation and more galore. Prepare for your national pride to swell, imagination to be inspired and your spirit to soar!  

Show runs 120 minutes with intermission  

Showman, author, tour guide, and food crafter, Charles Phoenix celebrates classic and kitschy American life and style. He is known for his comedy slide show performances, field trip tours, Joyride videos, Test Kitcehn concoctions, and coffee table books. On TV, and he has appeared with Jay Leno, Martha Stewart, and Conan O’Brian, and as a judge on Food Network’s Cake Wars. The SoCal native was educated at theme parks, shopping malls, thrift stores, and his dad’s used car lots. Fans enjoy his genuine reverence, unique spin, and trust his guide to time-honored attractions from coast to coast. New York Times says, “Call him the King of Retro.”

The Curtis welcomes back retro pop culture humorist, Charles Phoenix, for an exuberant evening of spectacular vintage slides and spirited storytelling!  

With his quick wit and unbridled enthusiasm, and kaleidoscope of colorful images, he shares the stores stories and glories of his retro road trips in search of time honored attractions, tourist traps, classic cars and more galore.  

Charles also shares his latest Test Kitchen experiments, shares his “best of” local guide   and answers questions from the audience!
